FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What time should I arrive?
Anytime from 5:30 pm onwards. You may enjoy the courtyard and carol singers, along with light nibbles and drinks, until your timed entry into the house. No food or drink is permitted indoors. The time indicated on your ticket is when you’ll enter into the house museum.

How do the time blocks work?
Guests will be grouped in tours of 25 in the order of arrival within each time block. Tours depart continuously throughout the event (e.g. guests selecting the 6:00 pm tour will depart on their tour in order of arrival/check-in between 6:00 and 6:30). 

What should I wear?
Dress in layers for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking and standing. Part of the event takes place outside in the brick courtyard; please dress accordingly.

Is there parking?

The Edmondston-Alston House is located on the Battery in downtown Charleston; there is no private parking. Street parking is first-come, first-served. The closest garage is the East Bay/Prioleau Street Garage, about ½ mile away.

Is this event handicap accessible?
Due to the historic nature of the house, there is very limited handicap accessibility on the first floor only.
