FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I purchase tickets in person? Tickets are pre-sale only and quantities are limited. Early purchases are strongly encouraged.
What happens in bad weather? This event takes place in all weather conditions. Tickets are non-refundable. We will only cancel if a major weather event presents a risk to safety.
Ticket holders will be notified of the cancellation via email. Refunds will only be issued if Middleton Place cancels the event due to severe weather. If tickets are available for other dates and times, available options will be offered, via email, to affected ticket holders for rescheduling their visit. Please note that rescheduling is not guaranteed, and is only offered as an option for timeslots where tickets are not sold out.
Is outside food or drink permitted? Outside food or drinks are not permitted. We will have several food and drink options throughout the event and the restaurant is open with a special prix-fixed three-course menu from 5:00 – 8:30 pm, which includes free admission to Garden Lights.
How long can I stay? The site will close promptly at 10:00 pm. Once you enter, the tour is self-guided and you can explore at your own pace. Food and drink options are available. If you plan on eating, your stay will be longer.
Where do I park? There will be main visitor parking and overflow parking when you arrive at Middleton Place. Gate and parking attendants will be there to help you navigate.
How long is the walking route, and is it wheelchair or stroller accessible? The walking route is approximately 1.5 miles long. Limitations of the historic pathways throughout the gardens prevent strollers, wheelchairs, and other assistive devices from accessing certain portions of the paths.
Is the walking tour guided? No, this is a self-guided experience. There will be staff and signage throughout the space to assist with wayfinding.
What should I wear? Comfortable and closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. This event is 100% outdoors and the temperatures can vary. Please check the weather before you come and dress appropriately. Several of the walking paths consist of packed dirt, so they have the potential to be muddy, so sturdy-soled shoes are ideal.
When should I arrive? Please arrive 15 minutes early. All tickets are date and time-specific. Tickets for other time slots and other dates will not be accepted.
Do I need to bring my ticket? Yes, bring your ticket to the event. We recommend adding them to your mobile wallet, saving it to your device, or printing your tickets ahead of time.
Will the Restaurant be open? Yes, the Restaurant will be open with a special prix-fixed three-course menu from 5:00 – 8:30 pm, which includes free admission to Garden Lights. Reservations are required and can be made through RESY.
Is this a family-friendly event? Absolutely! This event is great for families, date night, and group activities. Keep in mind that strollers might be hard to navigate and certain areas are not accessible.
Are pets allowed? No, pets are not allowed. We love your pets, but for the safety of wildlife, our livestock, and the preservation of our historic gardens, pets are not permitted.
Will there be a map available? Yes, a map will be provided when you check in. There will also be staff and signage throughout the event to help with wayfinding.
